THE EARTH DOES NOT BELONG TO US, WE BELONG TO THE EARTH
Today is the 5th day of June and what does that mean? It is world environment day, a great reminder of our call to live with care, the responsibility to people and planet starts right here! This is a day for all of us to increase the awareness on environmental conservation as well as working together on conserving the environment. This year’s theme is ‘Celebrate Biodiversity’
This day is the “people’s day” for doing something to take care of the Earth. That “something” can be local, national or global. What will you do? Today is opportunity for all of us to look into our habits and pledge for conservation of environment. Let’s develop habits which will cause no harm to water, air, land and consequently to the Mother Earth,‘The foods we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink and the climate that makes our planet habitable all come from mother nature,it is time to build back better for people and planet. If you want to care for ourselves we must care for nature,it is time for Nature. Remember our Environment is a heritage and our legacy that we all have inherited.

Even though we find ourselves navigating our current COVID-19 challenges, we should look to the future and take action to address the climate emergency. Will the world environment day be better focused more on rights and environmental justice? Let’s not forget how much the destruction of nature is tied up in capitalism and pervasive, structural inequality. This is a urgent call for nature and we should do the needful to meet the Paris Agreement SDG-13 Climate Change. This year’s World Environment day provides an opportunity for each one of us to act in restoring nature and reversing biodiversity loss, you can do the following to impact the environment positively :purchase eco-friendly product, consume more organic foods ,avoid littering, use public transportation, use water sparingly, avoid ocean dumping Strive to save nature, your small steps can make big difference in maintaining the nature and to keep environment clean & green .
